Forestburg Summer Camp 2008

On top of the falls
Flaming Arrows go Tubing

On
February 16, 2008 the Flaming Arrows went tp Shawnee Mountain to go tubing and
skiing. It was a rough ride but they all made it back in one piece.

Happenings
State Police Camporee 2007
On
October 5, 2007 we attended the New Jersey State Police Camporee in Sea
Girt, NJ.
This special event Hosted by the State Police allowed the new Scouts to spend 2 great
days working on advancements and visit displays set up by the State Police.
The weather was warm for October.

Eagle Project
Congratulations to Josh for earning his Eagle on
November 11, 2006. Josh completed improvements to the Brick Bureau of Fire
Safety property.

Eagle Board of Review
Congratulations to Chris for earning
his Eagle on August 07, 2006. Chris completed improvements to Saint Paul's
Picnic Area.

Kittatinny Summer Camp
Summer Camp 2006.

Hiking Merit Badge
Working
on the hiking merit badge Troop 33 took to the streets of New York City to hike
the New York Old Historic Trail. After visiting the Empire State Building
and touring the loser south side, the troop walked across the Brooklyn Bridge.

Citizenship of the Community
On
January 6, Eagle Scout, Councilman Michael Thulen Jr. visited
Troop 33 to help out with the Citizenship in the Community merit badge.
Councilman Thulen shared his knowledge and experiences with the scout. We had a
wonderful evening of discussion.
NJ
State Police Camporee, 2004
On
October 22, 2004 we attended the New Jersey State Police Camporee in Sea
Girt, NJ.
This special event Hosted by the State Police allowed the Scouts to spend 2 great
days with the Troopers. The scouts worked on merit badges and visited many
of the displays set up by the State Police.

Central Jersey Rifle & Pistol Club
Troop 33 participated in Central Jersey Rifle & Pistols
Club's Youth Day program sponsored by the NRA. What a great time we
had! Certified NRA instructors were on hand to provide quality training.
Scouts had unlimited access to al kinds of guns from 1800 hand pistols, muzzle
loading shot guns to M-1 military weapons The trap shooting and cowboy
shooting was a huge hit. We can't wait until next year to return again.
Three Rivers Scout
Klondike
Troop 33 participated in the Three Rivers District
Scout Klondike in Estonia Campground in Jackson, NJ this February. The
Scouts enjoyed 2 nights of camping and competition. They won a couple of
ribbons and had a great time enjoying the fellowship of other Scouts. Troop 33 was pleased when guests gave their time to help them with their
advancements.
Hiking Philadelphia
In January the Troop took a day hike in Philadelphia. We had completed
the six mile "Trail of Liberty".
It was a fun filled day that ended with a visit to the mall. We would like to thank our guests
Webelos scout Connor Biggs and Mr. John Biggs,
members of Pack 6 for joining us on the hike.
In order to complete some first class requirements for Citizenship,
Mr. Robert Olkowitz, Esquire, stopped in to gave a presentation on "The
Bill of Rights". The discussion became very interesting when the
Scouts asked an attorney's opinion for the right to not do homework.
Troop 33 planned a Shawnee Mountain ski trip
for late December. The Scouts wanting to take advantage of
the ski trip to earn the snow sports merit badge. The week before the trip Mr. George
Deus, snow
sports merit badge counselor, stopped by the meeting and started the Scouts for
the snow sports merit badge.
