Wood Badge NE-IV-217
Wood Badge is the premier leadership training program offered by the Boy Scouts of America for its adult leaders. Wood Badge is beneficial for any
adult leader in the Scouting programs; Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venturing. Participants must have already completed the required BSA training
for their registered position in Scouting. The leadership skills taught at Wood Badge are designed to help Scouters provide superior Scouting
programs for the youth in their units. These same skills are very frequently found by participants to be useful in other areas of their lives; their families,
church, work, and more.
Wood Badge is more than a leadership training course, however. People who have completed Wood Badge make friendships that last a lifetime. They
experience personal growth and expand their understanding of Scouting and what it can offer youth. And, let's not forget, they have a tremendous
amount of fun!
The 2009 Penn's Woods Council Wood Badge adult leader training course is now accepting applications. Wood Badge will occur on two 3-day
weekends in the spring: April 17-19 and May 15-17. The two weekends are all one course, you need to attend both weekends. There is a
definite limit on the number of participants so please send in your registration as soon as you can. Registrations received after the course is full will
be placed on a waiting list and used in the order in which they were received.
A Special thank you to Dr. Karl Hursey, Course Director NE-IV-214, Greater Pittsburgh Council for the content of this web site.
