How Can I Join Pack 572?

In September, we provide information about how to join Pack 572 to boys entering grades 1 through 5 mostly from Horizon Elementary School. We also have handouts and flyers at local businesses serving the Sterling Community throughout the year. Or you can email Pack 572 at membership@pack572.org

What Does It Cost to Join?

Annual Pack fee of $25 payable when you register
PLUS
Yearly Registration $10.00
Yearly Boys Life Subscription $10.80
Yearly Accident Insurance $2.00

Out of these funds, the pack pays for:
registration fees and insurance for Scouts and adult leaders
advancement patches, pins and other awards for Scouts, trophies, ribbons, Boys Life magazine and pinewood derby kits

In addition, each den collects dues of $.50 per week to cover the cost of den activities. To keep costs down, Cub Scouts participate in a various fund raising events.

 

What is a Pack?

A pack is a group of Cub Scouts, adult leaders and parents who belong to the same Cub Scout unit (e.g., Pack 572 of the Goose Creek District, National Capitol Area Council).

A pack generally draws its membership primarily from an elementary school, church or community that is associated with the pack's Chartered Organization and Community. Each pack is made up of Tiger Cub, Wolf, Bear and Webelos dens.
