Trainer Development Conference

• This course is open to all who may be involved in training: Members of District or Council Training Teams who train leaders in Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Varsity Scouting, and Venturing. Also includes Scouters who train Commissioners and District Committees, Pack Trainers, and Sr. Youth Leaders. If you are involved in training in any capacity, this course will help you.

• The Trainer Development Conference is designed to develop and improve the skills of both veteran and prospective trainers. The Trainer Development Conference incorporates numerous contemporary training techniques and emphasizes the importance of experiential learning, or learning by doing. In most instances, the training sessions not only demonstrate good training methods, but give participants an opportunity to interact and practice what they have learned. An ongoing learning activity, the BSA 500 game, is featured and used continuously throughout the conference to emphasize and reinforce the experiential learning.

Youth Protection

• A great way to keep your children safe, One leader is now required to be certified in Youth Protection for all trips taken by any unit.

Boy Scout Training

Boy Scout Fast Start Online Training Course

• An online training course for new Boy Scout leaders looking for basic information fast, or for other Boy Scout leaders looking for a quick refresher.

Merit Badge Counselor Training

• If you ever wanted to know what it was like to be a merit badge counselor, this is the place to find out.

Den Chief Training

• A Den Chief is a Boy Scout who has been assigned by a Troop and Pack to assist in a Cub Scout Den. The Den Chief Conference is a training course in which Den Chiefs are taught how to help Cub Scout Leaders run a fun and effective program for Cub Scouts and Webelos It is a very popular course with both the instructors and students. This event is open to all Boy Scouts who wish to be Den Chiefs. This training should be put to use within one year of completing the program. Scoutmaster approval is preferred for Scouts who have not yet reached the rank of First Class.

Scoutmaster Specific 

• This course will give you the background you need to run a fun, safe, and effective program for the boys. Topics include everything from Advancement to Youth Protection, with a lot of fun and Scouting Skills in between.

Scoutmaster Outdoor Training

• This course will give you the background you need to run a fun, safe, and effective outdoor program for the boys. Topics include physical skills and everything you need to be comfortable in the outdoors with your troop.Scout Master specifics are not needed to take Outdoor Training. Specifics can be taken at a later time.

•   This is a youth training course designed to stress the leadership responibility to the youth leaders in your unit.

Cub Scout Training

BALOO

• The revised camping guidelines gives councils the authority to allow Cub Scout packs to conduct a pack campout (overnight) activity, as long as the activity is conducted at a council approved location and is under the direction of a leader in the pack trained to do so.  The new training course to prepare these leaders is called Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO).

• The target participant for BALOO training is a new Cub Scout leader with a desire to plan and carry-out an entry-level outdoor experience for the pack.  Successful completion of this training will result in an increased level of confidence and a willingness to plan an age-appropriate pack overnighter.

OWL

• Owl is an advanced course that covers the outdoor program for Webelos .  It is a must if you are going to run an effective Webelos Program.  Topics include all outdoor Webelos Activity Pins, Planning Overnight Campouts, Campfires, Church Services and a host of other valuable Webelos topics.
