If your Scout Unit Doesn't Sell Popcorn - You Can Still Sell as an Individual Scout Family

In the past, if a unit decided that they did not want to participate in the annual Council popcorn sale, all the families in that unit were unable to sell. NO MORE!

If your unit chooses not to sell, we have developed a way in which individual families in those units can sell Trail’s End popcorn this fall, Scouts can earn great prizes, and best of all - you will receive 30% of your total sales amount.

How do you participate? First, to qualify, your son must be registered in a Scout unit that has decided not to participate in the popcorn sale. Then contact Rick Riopelle, Council Popcorn Staff Advisor, by email (popcorn@ktc-bsa.org)or phone (508-872-6551).

Below you will find some more details regarding this program:

  • Scouts must collect money while taking customers orders

  • Product orders, money and prize selection are due on October 30th

  • Product will be available for you to pick up on November 21st

2009 Drawings for "Fill It Up" Forms

Scouts, check this out!  You have a chance to win one of 12 iPod Shuffles by participating in this year's popcorn sale.  All you have to do is fill up a Take Order sheet (25 sales) and complete this form as soon as you "fill it up."  We'll hold a weekly drawing from all "Filled Up Forms" we receive each week and the two winners will receive an iPod Shuffle. Drawings will be held on the following dates:

  • September 22

  • September 29

  • October 6

  • October 13

  • October 20

  • October 27

And don't forget, besides having a chance to win one of these great prizes, you'll also be earning some BIG money for your unit and your Scouting program.   The average "Filled Up Form" amounts to almost $375.00 in sales.  That means (based on 2009 averages in this council) you'll earn about $124.00 for your unit for every form you fill up.  That makes a BIG difference!

Remember, this is for the Take Order sale only so get ready, work on your "sales pitch" and go out and hit the streets!  On average 7 of 10 people who are asked to buy popcorn from a Scout WILL buy so it won't take you very long to "Fill It Up!"
