CAMP WHITSETT 1998 - COPE

Last year at Whitsett we only had one person complete the High COPE program. This year that person did not do the entire program. SHE was busy earning Scout Lifeguard. (I swear, that woman has more fun at camp than the boys do.) Anyway, this year Kevin Shively and Roy Snyder completed both Low and High COPE. Mrs. Hopper joined them on the last day and did the high course for time. As it turned out, it was hard to time each person because of interruptions (moving the camera from the ground to the far pole, a guy from another troop freezing in the middle of the wire, and a couple of other things). I tried though and I think I came out with fairly close times. All were under 15 minutes which is VERY respectable for that course. And what was I doing? Taking pictures on the ground. It was a tough job but someone had to do it. Besides, that's too close to what I do at work to be fun. (We don't use ladders anymore, that's what a Condor is for.) Enough of this, on to the pictures.

One comment about the pictures, they are scaled to fit the width of a monitor set at 800X600. Even if the point of interest is at the top of the picture you should scroll down to get the idea of how high off the ground these nuts, errrrr, people are. Click on the little picture to see the big picture. (Not recommemded if you don't like high places.)
