Nominations for Silver Beaver Award Due

The Silver Beaver Award is the highest award a Boy Scout Council can award a volunteer Scouter. The award is made for noteworthy service of exceptional character to youth by registered Scouters in a council. The nominee must have previously received the District Award of Merit.

Annually the Thunderbird District can nominate qualified Scouters. This year the nominations MUST be received by mid-November.

Do you know a Scouter who has made noteworthy service of exceptional character? If so, please nominate him or her for the Silver Beaver Award.

Thunderbird District Roundtable Set for Scouts' Centennial Year

Boy Scout Roundtable has set it meetings for the 2009-2010 Centennial Year of Scouting. The meetings will take place at 3120 Rainier Ave S, Seattle 98144, between 7:30 – 8:30 PM, on the 2nd Thursday of selected months as follows:

BSA Centennial Commemorative Coin Approved

The President signed into law the Boy Scouts of America Centennial Commemorative Coin Act (H.R. 5872) which authorizes the minting of 350,000 silver dollar coins in recognition of the BSA's 100th Anniversary in 2010.

The minting of the coin for 2010 will occur between February 8, 2010 and January 1, 2011. The coin will weigh 26.73 grams and will have a diameter of 1.5 inches. It will contain 90% silver and 10% copper.
