Summer Camp
Boy Scouting is designed to take place outdoors. It is in the outdoor
setting that Scouts share responsibilities, and learn to live with one another.
The skills and activities practiced at troop meetings come alive with purpose.
Being close to nature helps Boy Scouts gain an appreciation for the beauty of
the world around us.
Summer Camp is one of the single-most important events that a Boy Scout can
attend. It can be one of the great experiences in the life of a Scout. Each
program, merit badge, and evening campfire will linger in memory for years to
come. Scouts will have the opportunity to put their outdoor skills to the test,
to work with one another and to make life long friends. There is much to
experience, to learn, and to enjoy on a summer camp adventure.
But where to go? The Chief Seattle Council has two great camps to be
sure. But there are also many Councils around us here in Washington and in
our neighboring states that have possible summer camp destinations as
well. Some troops like to go in council one year and out of council the
next. Check 'em out!
