4th Putnam City Holiday Jazz FestivaL

This year’s PC Jazz Festival will be held at Capps Middle School on Saturday, Dec. 17.

The concert begins at 1:30 p.m. and will feature guest saxophonist, Dr. Tommy Poole.

Dr. Poole is Professor of Jazz Studies and Saxophone at Northeastern State University in Talequah, OK.

The concert will feature the PCN Jazz Choir and Jazz Bands from all 3 high schools.

Admission is FREE with the donation of a canned food item to benefit the OK Regional Food Bank.

Musical selections to include:
Caravan, Don’t Get Around Much Anymore, A Nightingalde Sang in Berkeley Square, All of Me, Satin Doll, Pressure Cooker, I’ll Be Seeing You, It’s Only a Paper Moon, Greensleeves, Christmas Time is Here, Winter Wonderland, I’ll Be Home for Christmas, Have Yourself a Merry Christmas, and Rest Ye Merry Samba.

Student report time: 6:30 p.m.

BASKETBALL BANDS 2011

Orange & Black Basketball Band Rosters are posted.

Each band member is required to perform at 2 assigned basketball games.
Students may not trade spots with another member.
Students may perform in a band to which they are not assigned, however, this will not replace a game for which they are assigned.

All basketball game report times are 6:30 pm in the large band room in travel shirt (not section shirt) and jeans.

Check for roster and game dates!

CHILI DINNER 2011

The Band Boosters are asking each student to bring the following items for the chili dinner:

A- G: 1 large bag of shredded cheese and 1 bag fritos
H - P: 1 box of crackers and 1 bag fritos
Q - Z: 1 dessert and 1 bag fritos

Parents, we are still in need of several pots of chili. If you are planning to bring some, please let myself or Jil Neel know! The boosters need to plan accordingly if we will need to purchase to supplement... your chili is much better!

We are looking forward to seeing everyone! Come out, visit with each other, listen to the kids make music, and have a great time! Invite your friends and other relatives. The chili dinner has become one of the Pirate Band's signature annual events that alumni and others look forward to attending. Come support your kids and music in our school!!!

The annual Putnam City Band Chili Dinner will take place Tuesday evening, Nov. 15 in the PC High New Cafeteria. Tickets are on sale NOW! $5 per person. See a Pirate Band student to purchase your ticket today!

Dinner: 5:30 - 8:30 pm

Musical entertainment provided by the Woodwind Choir, Brass Choir, Jazz Band and various Percussion Ensembles. Music will include variety of marches, folk songs, holiday classics, and much more!
