Spark Plug Award

Each year at the Recognition and Awards Banquet for the Mount Olympus District, a Spark Plug Award is presented by the District on behalf of the unit to an adult, involved as a leader, committee member or parent, who has done a particularly outstanding job for the unit in the past year. Every unit may select up to two adults who have had a positive influence on the success of the unit for this award.

Some examples of activities deserving this special recognition include: organizing and leading a major unit event or outing; organizing and publishing a monthly unit newsletter; organizing and maintaining unit records; doing an outstanding job as a committee chairman, unit leader, secretary, treasurer, or advancement chairman; assisting and training new adult leaders; or contributing more to the unit than was required or expected.

Nominations need to be submitted by the May Roundtable to give the evaluating committee time to review all submissions.
