Mount Olympus Award
Each year at the Recognition and Awards Banquet for the Mount Olympus District, the Mount Olympus Award is presented by the District to Scouters who have done a particularly outstanding job serving at the District level in the past year. Scouters who have had a positive influence on the success of the District and the units in the District are recognized with this award. Note that this award does not take the place of the District Award of Merit but allows Scouters who have not been awarded the District Award of Merit to be recognized for making outstanding contributions at the District level. It also allows Scouters who have been awarded the District Award of Merit to be recognized for continuing to make outstanding contributions to the District.
Some examples of activities deserving this special recognition include: organizing and running a major District activity like Spring Camporee, Klondike Derby or Cub Scout Day Camp; organizing or teaching District training like Boy Scout or Cub Scout Leaders; doing an outstanding job as membership, camping or advancement chairman; or contributing more at the District level than was required or expected.
Nominations need to be submitted by the May Roundtable to give the evaluating committee time to review all submissions.
