This training is also required for all new Leaders and you need to receive credit for taking this training.

Part 3 . . . Next, attend New Leader Essentials
All new adult scout leaders (from Tiger Cubs through Venturing) need to attend. Recommended for Parents and Guardians of scouts (from Tiger Cubs through Venturing) as well. This 3 hour long course is an overview of the entire Scouting Program, covering Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and the Venturing Program.
 
Part 4 . . . Position Specific Training
How to accomplish your job as a Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Venture, or Varsity Leader. Attend the class appropriate for your position.

    Part 5 . . . Basic Outdoor Leader Training
  • for Cub Leaders that's BALOO - Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation.
  • for Boy Scout Leaders (Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters) that's OLS - Outdoor Leader Skills.
  • for Committee Members that's Troop Committee Training.
  • Upon completion of these five parts of required training, a leader is considered trained and will be presented with the Trained patch to wear on their uniform.

    Optional Training for Adult Leaders

    Wood Badge

    21st Century Wood Badge for all adult leaders - Cub Scout Leaders, Boy Scout Leaders, District Committee Members and Professionals. This is an optional, but strongly encouraged, step in leadership development. The ultimate in leader training!
